Purslane-Medicine beneath your feet
Updated: Mar 14, 2023
Traditionally Purslane has been used as a purgative, cardiac tonic, emollient, muscle relaxant, and anti-inflammatory and diuretic treatment making it essential in herbal medicine. Purslane has also been used to treat osteoporosis and psoriasis.
Purslane is a nutrient-dense plant! It has the highest omega-3 fatty acids of any leafy vegetable. In addition, it is high in antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, vitamin A, B, C, and age-defying bioflavonoids.
Try using Purslane in the same ways you would like spinach, such as in salads, sautés, soups, etc.
